Character Faction: New Warrior
"Do you defend someone 'cuz 'they look like me'?"
Physical Appearance:
Tier is a behemoth, standing at 7'0" tall, a large frame, and filled with muscles which are not only unusually big for a human, but with different anatomical distribution to the toning as well. With his anatomy resembling a mixture of a human's and canine's, his musculature is a bit atypical. His torso, arms, and upper-legs are both more or less correct, though his feet are pretty much like a larger version of a wolf's, with four clawed toes, featuring an extreme raising in elevation at the arch, where his heel is positioned more to be just below his knee. Both hands have similar claws at the end of each finger, though he possesses five of these on each hand.
Sinclair's face is also distinctly beast-like, with his entire facial structure accommodating a muzzle, though rather shorter than a typical canine's, with eyes positioned just above there. With much white fur and hair flowing from his body, and growing at a rate that has made it troublesome for Tier to continue wasting his blade's edge on cutting it, the asgardian performs several cosmological procedures on the longer portions of his hair to keep it in-check and out of the way. The hair which grows from the top and back of his head are made into thick braids, which he has two different "length tiers" for ease of making. The longer braids number in seven, reaching as far down as Tier's lower-back, each tied with a chord of twine and an unidentified beast's claw at the the end. He also has five shorter braids, tied in a similar manner and presumably with claws from the same monster.
The mutant's armour is made from the hides and leathers of creatures who have been slain at his claws, with the majority of the components being straps or plates of thick leather, with wooden, bone, and metal components being used as they could be found or implemented. Notably, the inner-ridge of his right pauldron has the fangs of a great monster protruding, with the beast's effigy forged in metal just below it. Later on additional components were added by the dwarves, though nothing notable enough to add considerable defensive-viability.
Personality:
Tier is a hunter. It is his life, his obsession, and the only thing he knew for the first three or four years of the Asgardian's life. Naturally, a great amount of his time was devoted to this livelihood, and it reflects in many of the god's mannerisms. Muscles constantly tensed, ready to pounce, gives him something of an aggressive posture and demeanour, regardless of what his actual thoughts of the moment other, coupling this with the silence of his footfalls, many of his teammates feel as if they're constantly being stalked. As well, Sinclair will often compare things to a concept that is involved in hunting, in a method of which many believe makes things easier for the god to understand, but in reality he does this for the fun of irritating others.
Tier has been known to be a somewhat playful individual as well, enjoying many games, and showing in his true age, pranks his fellow gods. While nothing like the trickster god Loki, this could be more easily identified as a child attempting to entertain himself. When a person comes to visit in his quarters, provided by Stark International as part of the inter-dimensional establishment movement, they see something quite strange. While it has what one would expect of Tier, a net-hammock to sleep on, a collection of archaic weaponry, and a surplus of plant-life kept alive by the tending of their keeper, there are also some toys, puzzles, and video games that a 13-year old would own.
Sinclair believes in honour above all, and will not take a prize he feels hasn't been won properly. This includes in wildlife and in battle. There is no situation which would bring Tier to put his honour second to anything else, and if he feels that the fight or scenario is somehow unfair to the opposing side, will intentionally sabotage himself in order to resume the hunt once more, under fairer circumstances. He does not believe in attacking the sick, pregnant, young, or previously-injured, nor does the lycan fight any who wish to die.
Personal History:
After the close of the golden age, a number of heroes continued their activity, including one Rahne Sinclair, better known as Wolfsbane of the X-Men. The adventurer had many great stories to her name, and during the year of 2007 she possibly had one of her most grand to date. Brought the the plane known as Asgard, the heroic group had been tricked by the god Loki, as he had a plan to harness the powerful mutations among the team in order to enhance his own powers, and those of his key pawns.
During this time, the team encountered Hrimhari, God of Wolves, and the two were instantly enamoured. Together, the two sides would work together to trump Loki and free the humans from his trap. In the months that followed both continued to pursue a relationship, despite the distance and complexity, until it eventually culminated into one night of heated passion. As a result of the two's romp, Rahne would become pregnant, though she was unable to admit to herself that she had procreated with a heathen god, and managed to pass it off as her subsequent boyfriend Rictor's for the time being. Of course, the eventuality of the child's actual birth made it difficult for this story to be believable on any level.
The power of the unborn child attracted several powerful mystic figures, who wanted to either use, destroy, or protect Rahne's spawn, and make sure the mother herself would be able to carry her son to term. While the individuals who has gathered all assisted with the birthing, casting powerful wards and other protection magics to keep the mother alive, but restrain one another. A number of other friends of the mother, including Werewolf-By-Night Russel, Logan, and her X-men team at the time, had witnessed the gruesome birth of the child.
In order to safely pass the newborn, a spell actually had to be cast for Rahne to birth her child orally, while in her half-wolf form. As soon as the child was clear of his mother, however, all hell proceeded to break loose. The mystics and gods who had helped forge the wards attempted to attack one another in a mad bid for the child, which frightened Rahne and caused her to change fully into wolf form and become vicious. These occurrences frightened the child, resulting in him fleeing, managing to bypass the wards in a surprising twist, with no effort.
Escaping the battle, all within the place searched for the infant in the aftermath, though the only one who succeeded was Jack Russel. He took the child, and instead of returning him to his mother, realized that not only would she be unequipped to raise a child to begin with, she didn't even have the tools to evade the constant hunting that the boy would be subjugated to. So the werewolf taught the boy, hunting, tracking, fighting, and all manner of other things. The child grew quickly, being given the name Tier as a show of his Asgardian heritage, and before even half a decade had past, Sinclair and Russel parted ways, the adopted-father proud of his now grown son.
In the subsequent years, Tier became a powerful hunter, having even taught himself to craft weapons from his surroundings to better hunt the local wildlife.
One fateful day, Tier encountered a group of Asgardians, lead by Thor, who had been sent by Odin to retrieve the creature before his grandfather Fenris could succeed in recruiting the powerful being into his pack, and was brought back to Asgard for training. He spent until he was the ripe age of 11 fighting other soldiers of Asgard, discovering that even among gods he was powerful, due to the nature of his mutation that had been inherited from Rahne.
Eventually, he even became designated as one of the gods of the Hunt, specifically the type of hunting in which his beastly kin often engaged, and was given a place in the pantheon. Upon his return to Earth, Tier had the desire to find his mother and adopted father, as well as become a hero much like Thor, now his friend and partner in battle had once been. He was promptly recruited into the New Warriors, the team being in sore need of a Thor-style recruit, and Sinclair fitting the bill perfectly. Tier has spent the last 2 years searching, but to no avail.
"It's not what you have, but what you do with it, that makes the man you are."
Superhuman Powers:
Asgardian/Mutated Human Hybrid Physiology - The son of Rahne Sinclair, a human mutant with the ability to transform into a lupine creature, and Hrimhari, Asgardian god of wolves, Tier is possessed of a rather unique biological composition. Alone, he has the powers and abilities which are typical of an Asgardian, though her mother's mutation and human DNA brought about a unique change in his genetic makeup, allowing Sinclair to be physically superior to other members of his race, as well as gaining several abilities as extra-affects of his mutation. His mother and father were both in their half-human forms when Tier was conceived, and in result, he remains in a similar form at all times, unable to fully turn into beast or man.
====Superhuman Strength - Class 100 Superhuman Strength. Tier is able to lift in excess of 100 tons, though he is known to hold back, in the spirit of "a good hunt". His muscularity is enhanced beyond the typical Asgardian, who usually lifts something closer to 30 tons in optimal conditions, thanks to the genetic mutation.
====Superhuman Agility, Speed, and Reflexes - Another combination of his Asgardian physiology and mutant genetics, Tier is far more lithe, fast, and quick then a normal human. His maximum running speed being 120 km/h while hunting, to 150 km/h in short bursts.
====Superhuman Stamina - Producing fewer fatigue toxins than a human body would, Tier can perform at full capacity much longer than most, and can even actively hunt for a period which could be described as indefinite.
====Superhuman Dense Tissue and Durability - The tissue and bones of Tier's person is at least several times denser than a normal human's, also resulting in his being heavier than an individual of his size. Able to sustain many types of injury this way, bladed weapons and mid to higher-calibre bullets can still pierce the man's tough hide, and thick fur. With any edged weapon, within reason, it takes a man of above-average or better strength to cut the god (able to lift more than 250 lb.). Force trauma also does not have as large an effect on him, taking at least a Class 50 attack in order to harm him directly.
====Superhuman Senses - Senses which are similar to that of his mother's, Tier is able to see in several spectrums of vision, able to even "see" scent to a limited degree via the subtle difference in the molecule's structure, appearing as a different colour against the rest of what he sees. As well, he can also smell pheromones, and even the slight changes in scent which are brought about by emotions such as fear, lust, and anger.
======"True-Sight" - Having given up his eye in exchange for a magical sense known as True-Sight, Tier can activate this ability in his missing socket, even when covered, to allow him a different type of vision. Able to mentally specify a target which he has seen before they are given a unique, almost aura-like, glow. This glow is visible through all forms of matter, and contrasts with its bright colour against non-designated components of his sight, which darkens slightly to make his target more clear. It does consume some of his stamina to use this power, but not measurably enough that he doesn't reconsider making use of it in most situations. This ability, however, cannot actually manifest itself at will, in most cases, though it may be suppressed at Tier's whim. The Sight only activates under the context of a hunt, in some sort of natural environment (cities and non-Earth dimensions do not meet these criteria).
====Regenerative Healing Factor - Being an Asgardian, Tier can heal most wounds faster than a normal humans, things which would take months to heal will correct themselves in a matter of days, and most things that would take several days seal up in a few minutes.
====Accelerated Ageing - Despite his natural longevity, Tier aged at an astounding rate initially, hitting adolescence within a few months of being born. Within a full year he was considered grown, and now at the peak age for his physical condition, it seems to have stopped. There is no definitive explanation for why it occurred, though his mutant DNA interacting oddly with Asgardian DNA might have been the cause.
====Longevity - Asgardians are not immortal, as many believe. Instead, they age at a rate of approximately one year per one hundred human years. This ability came into effect upon reaching adulthood.
====Self-Sustenance - Tier does not actually need to eat or breathe in order to survive, he requires it for things such as exertion, but inside the realm of midgard Sinclair does not need to eat or breathe, though in any other these limitations are imposed on the mutant, and can be to a limited degree in his home dimension. When performing actions such as combat, hunting, or even running, it requires him to do things such as breathe, drink, and eat, though to a lesser degree.
====Magical Immunity - The magic of intermediate, to lesser, level gods does not have an effect on Tier. Of course, magics from the likes of Loki, Odin, and Thor, or any Sorcerer Supreme, will overpower this resistance.
====Lesser Asgardian Magic - Able to perform magic naturally, because of his greater vitality and willpower, Tier can wield magic, though with negligible levels of proficiency.
====All-Tongue - When speaking, Tier is always heard in the language of the listener's heart.
Odinforce Manipulation - Being an Asgardian, specifically a member of the Aesir, a lot of Tier's power comes from the mysterious energy dubbed the Odinforce. With some rudimentary understanding of manipulating this power, Tier was able to, in the past, redirect an amount bestowed upon him which would have proven fatal, and formed a weapon which allowed for a more preferable situation. Beyond life or death situations, his actual control of this power is considered to be pathetic, and only shows any real mastery over the energy in dire scenarios.
Skills:
Tracking - Coupled with his True-Sight, Tier is able to track most targets with uncanny efficiency. There are few, sentient or beastly, that can evade him. And if they do, Sinclair will take this as the truest form of a challenge, and never give in, until he has proven victorious.
Marksmanship - Even with the sight of one eye, at most times, Tier rarely misses a target with his bow. Of course, this only extends to out of combat, and with aim, not being a battle-archer, Tier cannot keep his marks with the same efficiency of those such as Hawkeye.
Combat Training - Only having received formal training the last three years, most of Tier's background in this skill comes from fighting in the wilderness. Often using brutal tactics with his claws and fangs at most times, and translated further into his chosen weapons upon being taken up for Asgardian combat training. He is skilled in a number of weapons, strongly preferring bladed weapons such as daggers, swords, and knives. Tier is also skilled in some simple hand-to-hand, though he finds little use for it, considering hand-to-claw is always an option.
Stealth - Able to blend effectively into his surroundings, despite the light colouration of his fur and considerable size.
Taxidermy - Able to skin and make trophies of certain animals, he can also, to a degree, create leathers and the like.
Equipment:
Fenbrandr (Fenrir's Blade) - While not the true claws of the creature, these were originally a set of wooden, then stone, blades which were lashed and bound to his left glove like a sort of claw, made to emulate Wolverine's from the few times he'd seen the mutant personally, though with only two blades, rather than three. Eventually, upon becoming a member of the Aesir, the Dwarves reforged the weapons into what they are currently. Like other Asgardian weaponry, this piece is highly dense, and can only be lifted by an individual of at least class 30 superhuman strength. With a blade that is honed to an extremely fine edge which never dulls, and is known to cut through most earthly materials, though things with magical resistance, such as adamantium or most enchanted weaponry, resist the claws as if they were steel. But when meeting with organic material, particularly individuals with blood, the flow of their life's liquid flows more freely and profusely.
Knífrdýr (Beast's Claw) - Something resembling a trench knife, this dagger is held in a reverse-grip, with a blade which extends to roughly the length of Tier's forearm. With four spikes of varied length protruding from the outer-side of the hand-guard. This weapon has been re-made in a similar manner to its sibling-weapon Fenbrandr, generating a blade of force which extends to roughly double its true length, this "second blade" having a considerable amount of destructive power which rivals the original, though it is only slightly lesser than the original.
Blade of the Fallen God - A longsword, forged from the mystical energies of his predecessor Ullr, who Tier slew in a situation through which no other result was possible. Absorbing the Odinforce from the other god, Sinclair would have likely died from the influx of power, forcing him to redirect it into a new shape, creating a sword from the excess power, something separate from himself which would allow for use in a number of scenarios. When drawing this sword, the extra power which once belonged to Ullr flows through Tier, enhancing his prowess far beyond its natural state. This can only be maintained for roughly a minute, before the affects become detrimental to the wielder.
Eye of True-Sight - A small jewel, held in place via an eye-patch-like binding, which gives Tier his True-Sight. Having removed his original eye in order to fit the magical item inside, Sinclair was able to compensate for the loss of half his vision, through its replacement by this trinket.
