"Do you defend someone 'cuz 'they look like me'?"
Physical Appearance: Brute is a beast of a man, standing close to 7' 3" and large muscles to match. His scruffy black hair covers the top of his head and a little over his ears. The man's hazel eyes give off a soft, happy look. He can't stand wearing synthetic material, and would, instead, wear furs and skins. The pelt of a bear covers his back and shoulders, while keeping his abs exposed. His pants and moccasins are made out of the hide of elk.
Despite his intimidating stature, very rarely is he seen without a smile on his face. But since his teeth aren't the most appealing, the man doesn't usually show them, so he smiles with his lips closed. His breath is quite foul as well, it's clear that he doesn't think much in the way of oral hygiene.
Personality: Despite his size and mass, Brutus' friends describe him as a soft, warm, over-grown teddy bear. While he isn't the bright crayon in the box, being around people he knows, always gives him a good time. However, he typically thinks more with his stomach than with his brain. Every chance he gets, the man will eat. He has even been banned from several all-you-can-eat restaurants because of his voracious appetite. His brain has about the same mental capacity as that of an eight year old.
Brutus hates fighting, and would rather play with dolls or action figures than trade blows. He'll even dress up in a dress to have "tea time" with little girls. The beast also loves to take naps, but he is notorious for keeping others up with his loud, obnoxious snoring.
Personal History: Brutus was born and raised in a small village that lived off the grid, deep in the woods of the north. They disliked visitors and strangers. So when a representative of a school for special children arrived, they turned him away, refusing to let him talk to Brutus. His father was the leader of the tribe, and always wanted a son to become his heir. However, Brutus didn't grow up to the type of son his father expected. While he enjoyed hunting and catching prey, the boy would rather play games with the other kids, such as hide and seek, and dolls with the girls. The other boys would make fun of him, if it wasn't for his large size. This made Brutus' father furious, saying that his son was a disgrace to the tribe, and would never be fit to lead. Attempting to toughen up his child, the chieftain left his son in the wilderness for a week, but when he return, instead of killing prey, he befriended it! A wolf cub and his mother were found sleeping next to the boy.
Distraught at what he had seen, Brutus' father banished him from the village. Wandering the forest with the wolf mother and her cub, the then 15 year-old came across a town. The townsfolk feared him, claiming that he was a monster. Confused and disoriented, the teen followed the hard, black trail until coming across a large steel and concrete maze. The people were too, confused at first, but Brutus was too amazed at what he saw to leave. Life was hard for him at first, living on the streets, scavenging for food. But one day, while watching the metal contraptions, or "cars" as the passerby's called them, a little girl tripped and fell in front of a large truck. Without thinking or hesitation, Brutus jumped in front of the vehicle, letting it slam into him, but he acted like a brick wall, slowing the vehicle down, stopping just mere inches away from the girl.
The mother of the child thanked Brutus for the heroic deed. They took the bruised and battered man home, helping him get up on his feet in the new world and taught him more about modern life. Amazed at the talents of the man, a reporter made a news article about him, catching the attention of a circus ringmaster. Recruiting Brutus as his latest act, the man, then 18, adopted the performing name "Brute, the invincible man." A few years of being in the circus, helped him gain a lot of respect with the other performers. They also enjoyed his pets. But the constant move was wearing on him, and he finally decided to leave for a different life. Being a little more accustomed with the city life, Brutus was able to get a job as a fry cook. It bugged him but the pay was enough for him to support his family, which consisted of him and his pets. Being approached by a couple of figures, Brutus finally began a chapter of his life, living at Xavier's institute.
"It's not what you have, but what you do with it, that makes the man you are."
