Blake woke up with a massive headache. The last thing he remembers is being shot with a dart in the back of the neck. Looking around his surroundings, he realizes that he is trapped inside a glass tube. When he attempted to turn intangible, a collar around his neck shocked him and negated his powers. Reaching for his weapons, the ninja realized he was unarmed. All of his weapons have been taken! With the sound of a loud beep, the floor began to rise, pushing the teen to the top of the container. When the ceiling opened up, a bright light caused him to squint and cover his eyes. Once they finally adjusted, Blake looked around. Several other people rose with him. A large container stood in the middle of all of them, about half a mile away. One of the prisoners jumped from their station, exploding immediately upon leaving the circle. Nothing was left of them except a cloud of red dust. Trying to piece what was going on, another loud buzzer started going off. "3....2...1..." a mechanical voice yelled, before the sound of a bell chimed. The collar fell off and immediately Blake hopped down. One of the others launched a fireball at him, formed from his bare hands. "They're all mutants," he thought to himself, after dodging the blast.
Looking around for something to protect himself with, Phantom saw his sword near the container. Making a bee-line for it, he was attempting to dodge more attacks from the same man. Just as he got there, a girl took a swing at him. He turned intangible just in time for the attack to go right through him. Picking up his blade, the teen protected himself from another strike, cutting off the girl's hand. She screamed in pain as blood poured from the wound. Using the opportunity, Cross took off, sprinting for the trees that outlined the arena.

Her eyes were cold, and the trees made little sound as she ran though them. She was covered in blood and she didn't care. Finding a boy the girl stopped and looked down on him. She knew her goal was to kill but he looked familiar. She didn't want to kill him he was familiar she knew him.
The girl started to get a head ache and she wanted it to stop. Dropping from the trees the girl landed in front of the boy. Her claws were extended and her teeth blaired at the boy. She was in combat boots and a black uniform with her brown hair messed up around her. Past the cold out shell of her eyes her sole was screaming to stop.

Staring at the girl, Blake's heart felt like it was about to break his ribs from the pounding. The boy took a defensive stance, keeping himself light on his toes. The blade was the only thing between the two and Blake's only form of defense. "Jack, it's me, Blake," As a swing came at him, the teen blocked the attack with his sword, creating a sound like nails on a chalk-board. With another swing, he dodged it with a roll and stuck his blade into the ground. With a flick of his arm, Phantom sent dirt and dust flying into the face of his opponent and used to the cover to run into the bushes. Finding a river, the boy jumped in, hoping to conceal his scent.
Swimming with the current for a short ways before finally returning to land, the teen climbed into a tree, hoping to get a better look at his surroundings. The sound of thumping was coming from below. Taking a look, he saw a bear that was wobbling so bad, it could barely stand. It wasn't a dizzy type of stumbling, but more of a drunk kind. The bear was intoxicated. Trying to think of what happened, the ninja traced the bear's tracks to a bush. Taking a sample of the fruit, he spat it out from the taste. They were fermented. This gave him an idea. Grabbing a couple of handfuls, Cross stuffed them in his pockets. However, the sound of a twig breaking reminded him that he is still fighting for his life. Drawing his sword once more, he looked around. There was nobody. Looking up, he saw a man dropping down on to him. Rolling out of the way just in time, Blake drew his sword and took a stance. The attacker, with a menacing smile, gave a slight chuckle. With a deafening screech, the teen struggled to stay oriented as the noise echoed in the forest. It was almost five seconds before the kid stopped. It wasn't from running out of breath, the silence was sudden. But before he could find out what it was, something pierced the skin on his back. It felt like a mosquito, but with more force. Pulling the object out, he saw that it was a dart. Almost immediately, he began to feel dizzy. His skin felt cold as beads of sweat formed on his forehead. The dart was laced with something that was interfering with his ability to fight.
Determined to stay alive, but unable to defend, Blake hoped his luck hasn't run out yet. Drawing in a deep breath, he knew what he was doing could very well be the last thing he does. At the top of his voice, Blake yelled, "JACK!"

Jack growled when he put dirt in her eyes. She then wiped it away and chased the boys sent. She followed him to the river but lost his sent after that. The girl was then attacked from behind she had then attacked them. It didn't take long until she had finished the fight. The girl herd her name and she perked up.
It was Blake and he needed her. Diving in to the water the girl swam down and made her way to the sound. She picked up a sent of the attacker and ran towards the area. As she tackled the person attacking Blake. The two tumbled and she made the man break his neck on a rock. The girl made her way back up to Blake.
When she had gotten back to Blake he was passed out. She was tempted to kill him like she was told but she picked him up and ran towards her base of hiding. A cave under a waterfall hid their location. Jack had laid Blake down and covered him with her jacket for warmth.
She was training. The girl was punching the rocks leaving blood on the wall but it was working she was getting the rage out.

After a short while, Blake woke up. His head was still pounding and the rhythmic thumping of punches wasn't helping. Looking around, the boy realized his location has changed, acknowledging that this was probably the closest thing to shelter for the time being. Noticing the girl, Blake stood up, after a slight struggle with his balance, and walked over to her. Without saying anything, he reached into his pockets and pulled out the fermented berries. A few of them were crushed, but most were still edible. Giving a slight nod, he motioned his thanks. Still trying to get a grasp of things, the teen sat down with his legs crossed and took a couple of slow, deep breaths. With his eyes closed and his hands resting on his knees, palms up, he tried to think of what happened prior to the games. But the more he focused, the harder it became to realize it. He was drawing a blank. He couldn't even remember any of his thoughts, or of the school. It was as if a wall was separating him from himself. After about an hour of meditating, while his mind was calm and clear, the idea of not remembering anything bothered him slightly. Opening his eyes, the ninja saw that Jack was gone. Rolling his eyes, he went outside the cave. If nothing else, to him figure out something to do. Seeing that the sun was setting and darkness was growing ever closer, he figured it would be a good idea to lay low for a while. Pulling out his sword, he used it as an axe, cutting some wood for a fire. While the days were warm, something was telling him that the nights would not be so welcoming.
After several hand fulls of logs and branches gathered in the caved, Phantom attempted to start a fire. Spinning one branch perpendicular to another, the boy tried to start some embers, but only succeeded in a small puff of smoke and two cramped hands. After a couple of minutes, he tried again, this time, getting a small flame that went out as soon as a small breeze came through. As the night grew darker, the temperature continued to drop. Blake could feel hypothermia setting in. Desperate to get a fire, he continued to spin the sticks. Eventually a small fire burned. It wasn't much, but it was heat. The light it gave off was just enough for him to see the face of his partner. As much as he hated to show it, he wasn't sure of their odds of survival. There were dozens of competitors out there, each with their own trademark. Scooting closer to her, Phantom wrapped his arms around her. "I...it's to conserve body heat," He said in almost a whisper.

Jack looked at him as he woke and smiled a bit. "Glad to see your ok phantom." Grabbing her jacket she walked out of the cave to hunt for food. She made it quite far when she came back to find a few berries and even gathered some fish.
When she got back to the cave it was late and a small fire was going. She sat down and used her claws to cut the meat. Taking a small stick she placed the meat in and started to cook. It was then that she felt arms around her. Lightly the girl blushes but turned her head to look at him.
She didn't notice the cold but she was warm and she nodded. "Yes. Of course. " the girl leaned in to him and handed him some food. "Eat."

Grabbing the food from her, his mouth watered from the smell. Breaking it in half, Blake handed one of the pieces to her. "Then you eat as well." Taking a bite out of the meat, his stomach growled, showing just how hungry he was. Giving her a slight glance from the corner of his eye, the boy snuggled up a little closer to her. "This never leaves the arena," he said in an almost silent whisper. A twig snap from outside caught his attention. "Here kitty, kitty, kitty," a voice said. Sneaking to the entrance, Phantom looked outside to see the fire man walking around, the glow from his flames gave away his position. A fireball was launched into the trees, followed by a scream. A figure fell from the branches and landed with a thud. The sound of one of its bones cracking was clear. As the man walked up to it, he let loose a stream of flames that burned its victims. Its screamed made it obvious that it was human. Grabbing his blade, the ninja sprinted at the man. Just as he turned around, the sword pierced the fire man's stomach, protruding through his spine. With a heave, the weapon sliced upwards, splitting the man practically in half. Flicking the blood of his sword, Blake ran over to the victim. Despite knowing that it would die regardless, deep down, he was hoping there was a way to save it. Seeing the face of the charred body, the teen could see it was a girl. The smell of charred flesh and burning cat hair filled his nostrils. She was struggling for her last breath. Without even so much as a whimper, Blake put the tip of his blade between her eyes. "I'll make it quick," he said without any emotion, before plunging the metal into her skull. A final jerk from her body was all that was left before she died.
Walking back to the cave with an almost zombie like stare. It was evident that he was feeling numb inside. He sat away from Jack, still facing the fire. Curling up his legs, he hugged his knees, just staring at the dancing flames. He couldn't look at his partner, wasn't even able to mutter a single, only sit there, thinking about what he did, and why he didn't kill the boy when they first met. But instead of feeling guilt or regret, he felt nothing, only numbness. Was it because of the mercy kill? Or something else? Whatever the reason, he couldn't find the strength to look at Jack, afraid of what she might say.

Jack ate some of the food as well and her whole body shifted when she herd the cat running though the trees. The girl let out a small protective growl to warn off the other mutants. She also smelled the fire man and knew something bad was bound to happen. The girls eye twitched when he called for the kitty. She was ready. However before she could attack Blake was gone. The girl blinked and waited. She wasn't sure why Blake went out after them, she wasn't sure why she didn't care. Most of it was the uncontrollable feelings she was having.
She listened to the fight and when Blake came back and sat down across from her. She looked at him unsure of what to do. Normally she would offer a drink and a fun night but this was different and she was different she was more like her mother then she knew. The girl stood up and sat next to him.
"Killing others it's horrible. I'v done so much of it today not by choice. I watched people die because some this is wrong with me. I'm no hero Blake. You are. You did that girl justice you gave her compassion that others wouldn't have. As for fire boy he was a rotten apple. And would have killed many others. It's going to be hard but you will get though this I promise." Jack meant it. She would make sure that Blake wouldn't die. After all she had no one to live for anyway. She was a raging drug addict alcoholic who partied. Her mom sent her away and she barely knew Jimmy and Logan. She hadn't even met Logan yet.

Looking up at her, Blake gave a slight nod, the numbness still present in his eyes. Huddling in closer to her, the boy was still trying to figure would what was going on. Listening to the crickets outside, the calmness of the night finally started coming back to him. After a few moments, the teen finally opened his mouth to speak. "Do you remember anything before the games?" he asked. While all of his skills and tactics are well known to himself, he cannot recall any of the training. A howl in the night made Phantom snap back into his old self. Grabbing his sword, the ninja stood up and took a stance. He was prepared to draw his blade the second someone or something came through the door. After the howl, silence filled the air. Even the crickets were no longer heard. It was too quiet and something was telling Blake to get out of there, that it wasn't safe. A dart flew out of nowhere, aimed for the boy's chest. However, Phantom blocked it with his sword. The projectile was flying so fast that, even on the ricochet, it sparked when it hit the wall. It then went back to being quiet, as if someone was testing them. Another dart was shot into the cave, but this one was aimed at the floor. When it made impact, the container exploded, releasing a chemical that immediately started burning Blake's lungs, forcing him outside.
Sitting inside a tree was a woman. Despite the darkness, Phantom could see the menacing grin spread across her face. Pointing an open palm at the him, another dart was shot out. This one, without as much force, nor the gas, was probably just a tease shot, showing the boy where the darts have been coming from. Following her other arm, Blake noticed that it she was missing a hand. It clicked. Now he knew why she was stalking him. Hopping down from the tree, the girl gave a soft chuckle. "You killed my friend. He was just looking for food, and you killed him. Now, I will avenge him," she said with another chuckle. Pointing her palm at Jack, she finished the chuckle. "I will kill your friend." Just as a dart was released, Blake grabbed her arm and twisted, causing the dart to fly off course. The sound of her arm snapping caused the teen to let go of it. She screamed as the limb began to take its original form. With the sound of bones crunching, the twisted limb was now straight and usable again. Smacking the sword out of his hand, the maniac gripped Blake's shoulder to the point that his arm was dislocated. Turning her gaze back to Jack she turned her head sideways and with a smile, said, "Who will it be, you or him?" Phantom looked at his sword then back at Jack, then back at his blade and once more at his friend.
